Selling a product is just a part of marketing. Marketing covers identifying customers’ need, assessing them, bringing an innovative solution and then deliver it to the customer. Marketing department in a company is also responsible to do continuous research on understanding customer needs and keep an eye on competitors’ movements. Many times, big firms lose market to new start-ups as they take customers for granted and stop doing customer need or satisfaction analysis.
